Q-K-F-2 | Space that Encourages Imagination and Exploration

01. Project Introduction

Q-K-F-2 in Pristina is a project entirely dedicated to the world of children, conceived as an educational and recreational center where architecture becomes a tool for development. Within an area of 200 m², our main goal has been to create a warm, fluid, and completely safe environment that encourages children to learn through play and social interaction.

The interior design avoids strict and cold divisions, using elegant arches that connect different zones and integrating elements of nature and color that stimulate creativity without creating visual overload.

02. Technical Details

The main specifications that shape this innovative educational space:

  • Location: Pristina

  • Year: 2020

  • Area: 200 m²

  • Typology: Education

03. Interior Philosophy and Key Elements

When conceiving this 200 m² environment, every detail was viewed from the perspective and human scale of the child, combining aesthetics with high functionality:

  • Natural Lighting and Skylights: In addition to large windows with external grilles that control light, the ceiling integrates circular windows (skylights) that bring zenith light and create a sense of freedom, making the space feel higher and airier.

  • Modular Furniture and Flexibility: In the center of the room is a curved modular seating in the shape of a circle/semicircle, composed of segments in different colors (green, orange, brown). This allows educators to easily reorganize the space according to activities or group games.

  • Organic Graphics and Textures: White walls serve as a canvas for artistic illustrations of animals (such as a large geometric giraffe and a colorful deer), which encourage children's natural curiosity. The soft gray textured floor ensures comfort during barefoot walking and absorbs acoustic noise (sound absorption).

04. Architectural Vision

"We believe that spaces where our children grow should be transparent, open, and full of light. With Q-K-F-2, we replaced traditional doors with inviting arches and opened the ceiling toward the sky, creating an ecosystem where every corner invites new discoveries."

  1. Fluid Transition (Arches): Arch-shaped transitions create natural and organic movement for children, allowing easy supervision without creating a sense of barriers or isolation.

  2. Hidden Storage Systems: Cabinets integrated into walls with green doors without external handles (push-to-open) maintain visual cleanliness and ensure children's safety during running.

  3. Focus Corners: The space offers different zones—from the reading and drawing corner to areas for mobile play, adapting to different rhythms of the day.
